Despite Hungary’s Veto, Zelenskyy said Ukraine Would do Anything” to Move EU Admission Discussions Forward

Kyiv would do “anything” to get EU accession negotiations along, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Ukraine cannot be stopped in this manner. Unity is essential. We will do everything it takes. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Danish EU Presidency in Aarhus, he stated, “We need the support of all other leaders.”

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President António Costa, and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen joined Zelenskyy. Frederiksen promised to assist Ukraine in its EU admission process.

Denmark wants to exert “maximum pressure” on Hungary to remove its veto on Ukraine’s EU membership talks by using its position as EU Council president. Ukraine is part of NATO and the European family,” Frederiksen stated, adding that Denmark is considering the “best path ahead,” although he did not provide any further information.

The United States decided to stop delivering certain promised air defence missiles and munitions, which it had previously promised Ukraine, as Russia continues to escalate its attacks on Ukraine. In response to a question concerning the suspension of military funding, Zelenskyy stated he will talk to US President Donald Trump shortly but did not elaborate.
