US lawmakers have released a set of documents linked to Jeffrey Epstein, including a “birthday book” prepared for his 50th birthday in 2003. The book reportedly contains a note said to be signed by Donald Trump, though the White House has strongly denied its authenticity.
The release, made by the House Oversight Committee, also includes Epstein’s personal address book, his will, and a 2007 non-prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors in Florida. The files were handed over to the committee after being subpoenaed from Epstein’s estate.
The note in question, published earlier by Democrats, features a sketch of a woman’s body and the line: “Happy Birthday, and may every day be another wonderful secret.” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt rejected the claim on Monday, stating, “President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. His legal team will continue to pursue litigation.”
Committee chairman James Comer criticised Democrats for “cherry-picking” files and politicising the release, saying Republicans remain focused on a full investigation into Epstein’s crimes to provide accountability and transparency for survivors.
The “birthday book” was compiled by Epstein’s former partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who was convicted in 2021 for conspiring with Epstein to traffic underage girls. In addition to the book, nearly 30 years of Epstein’s address book entries were also made public.
