Netanyahu is Determined to Put pressure on Hamas to Locate the Remaining Captives who Have Died

At a memorial service for the victims of the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attack, Israel’s prime minister declared that the nation would continue to confront terrorism with “full force” and that he is determined” to obtain the return of the slain hostages who are still in Gaza.

Hours after Hamas said it could not reach the remaining 19 hostages but returned the bodies of two more, Benjamin Netanyahu made the remarks. Although the US has played down the idea that it amounts to a breach, Israel has been incensed that Hamas has not returned all the dead in accordance with last week’s truce agreement in Gaza.

Donald Trump also hinted on Thursday that if Hamas “continues to kill people,” he would be open to seeing combat return. In an apparent reference to stories of bloodshed within Gaza, where Hamas has been accused of brutally attacking internal rivals in recent days, the US president wrote on his Truth Social platform that “we will have no choice but to go in and kill.”

The Israeli authorities verified on Thursday that the two bodies that Hamas turned over to the International Committee of the Red Cross on Wednesday night were those of Sgt. Maj. Muhammad al-Atarash and Inbar Hayman.
