In a Widely Shared Coldplay Video, an HR Executive Discusses Abuse, Threats, and Looking for Work

After the viral moment, an HR professional who was seen embracing her boss on the big screen during a Coldplay concert has said that “the harassment has never ended” since then. For the first time, Kristin Cabot has discussed the footage of her hugging Andy Byron, the CEO of the tech business Astronomer at the time, at the July exhibition before they suddenly ducked and hid from the camera.

Following Mr. Byron’s departure, Ms. Cabot, 53, who served as the company’s chief people officer, resigned after the company declared he would be placed on leave and looked into. Ms. Cabot told the Times that she has been trying to find another employment but has been informed she is “unemployable.

After Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin told the audience, “Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy,” the video of the couple swaying to the music at the Boston, Massachusetts event before attempting to hide went viral.

Millions of people saw it, it was extensively shared on many platforms, and the two became the subject of numerous jokes. The internet had moved on in a matter of days, but Ms. Cabot’s ordeal was far from over.
