According to The White House, the US is Considering Military Acquisition Options for Greenland

In an attempt to secure Greenland, Donald Trump and his advisors are investigating “a range of options,” according to a White House statement on Tuesday, adding that deploying the US military is “always an option.

“President Trump has made it clear that obtaining Greenland is essential to deterring our enemies in the Arctic area and that it is a national security priority of the United States. The commander-in-chief always has the option to employ the US military, and the president and his team are exploring a number of alternatives to achieve this crucial foreign policy objective, according to a statement from White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. According to the statement, “Greenland belongs to its people. Decisions pertaining to Denmark and Greenland must be made by them alone.”

In the past, Frederiksen cautioned that the “end” of the military alliance and “post-second world war security” would result from a US attack on a NATO ally. She claimed that it would mean the end of “everything. Jens-Frederik Nielsen, the prime minister of Greenland, also asked Trump to abandon his “fantasies about annexation” and charged that US rhetoric was “completely and utterly unacceptable.
