After US President Donald Trump referred to Epstein as a “traitor” and declared he no longer supports her, Republican congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene is pressing her demands for the release of all Epstein data.
In an interview with CNN’s State of the Union host Dana Bash on Sunday, Greene stated that although she continues to support the president, she disagrees with his attempts to conceal the Epstein papers.
She claimed that Trump’s attacks on her are endangering her safety in addition to continuing toxic political infighting. He called me a traitor, and that is so highly inappropriate, and those are kinds of words used that can motivate people against me and put my life in danger,” Greene added.
Greene told CNN that her disagreement with the president has “all come down to the Epstein files, despite the fact that Trump’s article makes no mention of them. In an interview with ABC News on Sunday, Republican Representative Thomas Massie stated that up to 100 GOP members could vote in favor of the House’s planned vote this week on whether to make the files public.
The goal of the measure, known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act, is to require the Justice Department to make public all unclassified conversations, records, papers, and investigative materials associated with Jeffrey Epstein.
