Around the World, Hundreds of Thousands Participate in Rallies Against Iran

Following calls for a “global day of action” by the late Shah’s exiled son, hundreds of thousands of people have participated in protests against the Iranian government around the world. Reza Pahlavi, who has advocated for the overthrow of the Iranian government, spoke to an estimated 250,000 people in Munich and condemned the crackdown on recent rallies.

The biggest gatherings on Saturday were in Munich, Los Angeles, and Toronto, while smaller demonstrations were held in Tel Aviv, Lisbon, Sydney, and London. More than 6,000 people are thought to have died as a result of participating in protests against Iran’s growing cost of living, which later evolved into a larger anti-government movement.”My first message is to our brave and fighting compatriots inside the country,” Pahlavi said to the audience.

Know that you are not alone, and today the world stands with you in this struggle. Criticising Iran’s leadership, he said: “In contrast to this corrupt, repressive, child-killing regime, you represent a great culture and civilisation, and in a free Iran of tomorrow you will prove to the world what a great nation we are.
