Following the closure of a northern French rail route due to a power supply problem, passengers on a number of Eurostar trains are experiencing delays and cancellations. At least nine trains between London and Paris have been canceled on Monday, according to the Eurostar website, while another fifteen have been delayed.
Trains were rerouted to operate on slower routes as a result of the issue, which began at around 08:30 local time (06:30 GMT) on Monday and is predicted to cause difficulties until the end of the day. Passengers are encouraged by Eurostar to delay their travels if at all feasible.
The rail shutdown of the high-speed line between Moussy and Longueil in the Hauts-de-France area has also resulted in the cancellation, postponement, or other interruption of certain services between Brussels and Paris as well as between Amsterdam and Paris.
On its website, French track network operator SNCF stated that a power supply problem necessitating “major repairs” was the cause of the “severely disrupted” services. The Eurostar and its subsidiary services, TGV in Ouigo and Oui, were expected to have delays of one to five hours. There has been no effect on trains between London and Amsterdam, Brussels and Amsterdam, Brussels and London, or Brussels and Cologne.
