Vladimir Putin’s attempts to stop Russia’s military aggressiveness in Ukraine are not being taken seriously by European foreign affairs ministers, who are increasing pressure on the US to act appropriately. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot told reporters at NATO headquarters on Friday that it is evident that Vladimir Putin is not eager to start peace talks or enter into a ceasefire.

The situation should prompt all those committed to Euro-Atlantic security to increase pressure on Putin to come to the negotiating table finally,” said Barrot, who arrived for the two-day conference of foreign ministers with his British counterpart.

You’re here, Vladimir Putin. We are aware of your actions. And for that reason, we are committed to keeping Ukraine in the best possible position—militarily, economically, and in terms of the humanitarian framework they require,” stated David Lammy of the United Kingdom.

US President Donald Trump has assured that the Kremlin is dedicated to peace while breaking the impasse in ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine in recent weeks. However, in March, Moscow turned down a US proposal for a 30-day truce after Ukraine said it agreed, and European NATO allies think Putin might just be stalling to get a military edge.
