The crew member of the US F-15 fighter jet that was shot down over southern Iran on Friday has been recovered by the US. The US military “pulled off one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations” in its history on Sunday morning, and President Donald Trump verified the rescue on social media. He added that the officer is “now SAFE and SOUND!” despite Trump’s later claim that he was “seriously wounded” in a post.
The jet had two crew members on board, and both of them were ejected. US soldiers had already saved one of them. Iranian officials claimed that their air defense system shot down the warplane.
