On Monday, March 10, the majority of flights were canceled due to a one-day strike by employees at 13 German airports, including the hubs in Frankfurt and Munich as well as all other major destinations in the nation.

According to the German Airports Association ADV, more than 3,400 flights are anticipated to be cancelled today, potentially disrupting travel for almost half a million passengers nationwide. It is recommended that travelers avoid airports and contact their airline or tour operator to inquire about rebooking or other travel options.

Berlin Brandenburg Airport has also canceled flights, stating that “all regular departures and arrivals will be affected by the strikes and therefore cannot take place.” It has been suggested that impacted travelers contact their airline or tour operator to inquire about rebooking and other travel options. On Tuesday, March 11, the airport anticipates returning to its regular and scheduled operations.

Due to strikes affecting several areas, including aircraft handling and passenger security checks, Hamburg Airport has announced that no departures will be allowed. Although it states that significant disruptions and cancellations are expected,” arrivals may still be possible. Additionally, on March 10, late-night check-in will not be available for Tuesday flights.
