US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Israel to kick off his first Middle East tour since taking office as the country’s top diplomat. During their Sunday meeting, Rubio and Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, talked about US President Donald Trump’s contentious plan to relocate the Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to other nations permanently.
Rubio said that Trump’s ideas were audacious and might have shocked or astonished people during a joint news conference with Netanyahu, but he stressed that a shift is necessary to ensure a different future for the area. Rubio stated, “What cannot continue is the same cycle where we repeat over and over and wind up in exactly the same place.
Hamas cannot remain a government or military organisation. And to be honest, peace is impossible if it remains a force capable of administration, governance, or the fear of violence. Netanyahu gave indications on Sunday that he was proceeding with Trump’s plan. Following the Israeli premier’s meeting with the US president in Washington last week, the proposal was unveiled in the White House. Netanyahu refers to the proposal as the “only viable plan to enable a different future.
