NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte emphasised Thursday the need for a “lasting” ceasefire or peace agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine. Of course, I applaud the Americans’ efforts to overcome the impasse; that is crucial. Whenever a ceasefire or peace agreement is struck, we must ensure that it is permanent,” Rutte stated on Thursday.

“The outcome of this war is of detrimental importance to the rest of the world,” Rutte emphasised. He went on to say in his address that the crisis in Ukraine is not merely a struggle between two neighbours but rather a “global conflict,” adding that Russia is collaborating with its allies, China, North Korea, and Iran, to further its goals.

In the end, only one person will be able to judge how this conflict turns out, and that person is Mister Xi Jinping, the first secretary of the Communist Party of China, Rutte stated. And he’ll be keeping an eye on the winner. Is it the West or Russia? And I’m sure that will help him decide what to do next in the Indo-Pacific. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha repeated his remarks, urging a “long-lasting, comprehensive peace.
