As the war in the Middle East continues to escalate, more and more civilian infrastructure is falling victim to attacks, many of which are premeditated. Some of the places that have taken a blow include refineries, reservoirs, desalination plants, universities, and factories that make chemicals, steel, and aluminum.
A nation’s war machine might be said to be built on top of a couple of these targets. Ahead of planned strikes on “additional targets and areas that assist the regime in building and operating weapons against Israeli civilians,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a dire warning last week. Not long after that, Israel struck many steel mills.
The United States’ strikes have been rather targeted thus far. However, in a post on Truth Social on Monday, US President Donald Trump threatened to “conclude our lovely’stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely obliterating all of their Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island on top of everything else. Iran has issued evacuation orders in certain instances and warned on multiple occasions that it will retaliate against comparable facilities in nations that support the US-Israeli assault as it experiences attacks on its economic and social infrastructure.
