On Sunday morning, Ukrainian officials reported another large aerial strike that included drones, artillery, and missiles, including the hypersonic Khinzal and Iskander and Kalibr cruise missiles, according to local Ukrainian media.
According to the Kherson Oblast government, one person was murdered and another was injured in the southern city of Kherson. Kremenchuk in Poltava Oblast was the primary target. Debris struck agricultural and energy installations, but no injuries were recorded.
The Ukrainian air force said that two Kinzhal, three Iskander-K, and three Kalibr missiles were shot down, and that 111 drones were downed and another 48 were redirected out of the approximately 200 weaponry.
Russia claimed to have destroyed every target in a flurry of strikes on Ukrainian drone and weapons manufacturing sites. Moscow’s defence ministry said that its military troops “performed a collective attack … against Ukrainian military-industrial complex facilities.”
It claimed to be targeting facilities that produce gunpowder, shells, and unmanned aerial vehicles. It further said that “all designated facilities were hit.” According to Ukrainian officials, a civilian was injured in the northern Sumy area, but no deaths have been confirmed as of yet.
