In an effort to find a means of ending their invasion of Ukraine, Russia is suggesting that a second round of negotiations be held. On June 2, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov declared that the Kremlin is ready to hold additional talks with Kyiv in Istanbul.
Moscow has developed a list of items it considers essential to the fight, the top Russian ambassador added. In a similar memorandum, Lavrov claims that Russia has devised solutions to address the “root causes of the crisis. As agreed, the Russian side quickly drafted a corresponding memorandum outlining our stance on every facet of consistently resolving the crisis’s underlying causes (with Ukraine),” Lavrov stated.
The declaration follows Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan’s two-day visit to Moscow, when he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Lavrov to discuss how his nation may help promote the peace process.
Thank you for giving the discussions a forum, Fidan and Turkey, Lavrov said. I would like to thank our Turkish partners once more for providing a welcoming Turkish platform.” Lavrov also used the occasion to retaliate against the nations that have been accusing Russia of not being sincere about pursuing peace.
