Russian authorities have attributed a large oil storage fire that is burning close to the Black Sea resort of Sochi on a Ukrainian drone strike. On Telegram, Krasnodar Region Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that 127 firemen were battling the fire after drone debris struck a gasoline tank.
Flights were temporarily halted at the airport in Sochi, the site of the 2014 Winter Olympics. Meanwhile, according to local sources, a Russian missile assault on the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv devastated civilian infrastructure and dwellings.
Russian forces have frequently shelled the city, and at least seven people were reported injured. Three of the injured were receiving hospital treatment, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.
According to Russian officials, Ukraine launched multiple drone attacks over the weekend, including one on the Sochi refinery, targeting facilities in the southern Russian towns of Ryazan, Penza, and Voronezh. According to the Voronezh governor, one drone attack harmed four individuals. Regarding the strikes, Ukraine has remained silent. In response to Russia’s constant bombing of Ukraine’s electricity grid during the conflict, it has been focusing on Russia’s energy infrastructure.
