Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, blasted Russia for escalating what he described as a terror campaign aimed at frightening Ukrainian citizens. In a post on X, Zelenskyy described the Kremlin’s escalating attacks on Ukraine throughout the last seven days.
According to the Ukrainian leader, Russia launched 83 different kinds of missiles, more than 1,800 drones, and more than 1,200 guided aircraft bombs in a single week. According to Kyiv, Russia began a bombardment earlier this week that contained very deadly cruise and aeroballistic missiles.
As part of their reinvigorated onslaught, Russia’s military ministry has claimed significant territory gains, especially on the eastern frontlines in the Donbas area. According to the Kremlin, its troops have taken control of the Donetsk settlements of Mykolaiv and Mirne.
Nonetheless, Zelenskyy pointed out that Ukraine’s air defence forces are producing “good results.” According to the Ukrainian leader, hundreds of Russian drone strikes that targeted many cities and sites in mostly populated areas were thwarted by Kyiv’s air defences.
Zelenskyy noted, “Hundreds of Russian-Iranian “shaheds” were shot down in the last week, demonstrating how well interceptor drones are performing.” Zelenskyy also mentioned continued initiatives to improve interception technology and strengthen Ukrainian air defences.
