A Dutch business claims to have created a method for recording dreams using artificial intelligence (AI). According to the Amsterdam-based design firm and think tank Modem Works, the Dream Recorder can record dreams in any language and in “ultra-low definition.” Awaken and say your dream out loud. and see it come to life in a dreamscape in the style of your choosing,” the project’s website states.
The project is “Do-It-Yourself by Design,” according to Modem Works. It requests that potential users download the open-source code, construct the Dream Recorder, acquire the necessary components, and 3D print the shell.
After everything is put together, users may double-tap to begin recording themselves remembering their dream. When they are done, the dream will be created. The created dream and up to seven more that are kept on a tiny 8-gigabyte processor will be played with another tap.
An HDMI screen, an 8-gigabyte CPU, a micro SD card, and a USB microphone are among the components specified for the Dream Recorder. According to the creators, the total cost of all the elements needed to construct a Dream Recorder is about €285. In order to help create the graphics for the dream, the device would also need to pay for the application programming interface (API) from OpenAI and AI video production startup LumaLabs.
