US President Donald Trump stated on Monday that the war with Iran would end “very soon,” but he did not rule out an increase in hostilities if Iran disrupts the world’s oil supply. This comes after global energy prices skyrocketed after Tehran appointed a new hardline supreme leader.
A day after Iran chose Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei to succeed his late father as the country’s supreme leader, oil prices momentarily reached their highest level since 2022. Ten days into the battle that the US and Israel had started, investors interpreted it as a hint that Iran was excavating.
But prices eventually plummeted and US markets soared on anticipation that the battle with Iran may not go much longer. To get rid of some evil, we took a little excursion” to the Middle East. At his golf club close to Miami, Florida, Trump told Republican legislators, “I think you’ll see it’s going to be a short-term excursion.”
Hours later, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying, “The United States of America will hit Iran TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far if they do anything that stops the flow of oil within the Strait of Hormuz.
