As part of their Easter festivities, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended a church service at Windsor Castle’s St George’s Chapel. The 15th-century church in Windsor, Berkshire, hosted the customary Easter Matins ceremony.
Except the Prince and Princess of Wales and their kids, who were on vacation in Norfolk for the weekend, the majority of the other members of the Royal Family, including the Duke of York, attended the ceremony. Those assembled outside wished the King and Queen a “Happy Easter” after the service, and a young girl gave the Queen flowers.
Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, arrived in a vehicle with Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York. Due to the scandal surrounding his suspected ties to a Chinese spy, Andrew was unable to attend the Royal Family’s customary Christmas celebration in Sandringham last year.
Prince Andrew hurried inside for the service as Princess Anne engaged in a lengthy conversation with the Dean of Windsor, the Right Rev. Christopher Cocksworth, outside. The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh came with their son, James, and the sisters, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, were joined by their spouses. James, 17, is now visibly taller than his father, Prince Edward, as they made their way to the chapel in front of throngs of royal admirers.
