Due to The Cancellation of Thousands of Flights, the EU Will Talk About Repatriating individuals From the Middle East

According to two people with direct knowledge of the negotiations, the European Union will address political and consular issues pertaining to the Iranian war on Sunday afternoon. One of the most urgent issues, according to Euronews, will be the repatriation of European citizens who are stranded in Iran and throughout the Middle East.

The Foreign Affairs Council will meet by video call at 17:00, while EU ambassadors are scheduled to meet in their COREPER format in the early afternoon. The repatriation of European individuals and consular help were already discussed at a Sunday morning meeting of national experts, known as the Working Party meeting, according to those familiar with the preparations.

In a social media post, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that steps were being taken to safeguard French nationals. Every effort is being made to secure the safety of our citizens, our national territory, and our Middle East interests at this pivotal time. If its closest allies ask for it, France is also prepared to provide the resources they need to defend them,” Macron stated.A number of European nations have called on their citizens to register for consular assistance and to avoid visiting Israel or Iran.
