According to audio given to CNN, Donald Trump once threatened to “bomb the sh*t out of Moscow” in retribution for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine during a private meeting with fundraisers last year.
“I told Putin that I would blow the living daylights out of Moscow if he invaded Ukraine. The tape captures Trump saying, “I’m telling you I have no choice,” at a 2024 fundraiser. After that, [Putin] says, ‘I don’t believe you.'” However, he gave me a 10% belief. Trump subsequently stated that he warned Chinese President Xi Jinping about a possible invasion of Taiwan and threatened to attack Beijing in retaliation.
The comments, which were made as Trump argued for a second term, were part of a collection of audio recordings of 2024 fundraisers in Florida and New York that Josh Dawsey, Tyler Pager, and Isaac Arnsdorf subsequently acquired. They described some of the conversations in their new book, “2024.” The audio has never been broadcast before. Regarding the recordings’ substance, the Trump team chose not to respond.
When Trump discussed his sometimes aggressive foreign policy strategy, deporting student protestors, and his belief that “the welfare people” will always vote for Democrats, the audio reveals a more unbridled side of him that he was willing to show off behind closed doors to win over wealthy donors.
