Two Palestinians who looked to have surrendered in the occupied West Bank were shot dead by Israeli security forces, according to video that has surfaced. The incident took place in the city of Jenin during an ongoing Israeli military operation.
The Palestinian Authority (PA) called the killings “brutal” field executions and charged Israeli forces with a “war crime.” The event is being investigated, according to the Israeli military and police, who claim the individuals were “affiliated with a terror network” and wanted. Itamar Ben Gvir, Israel’s far-right national security minister, stated that “terrorists must die” and fully supported the cops involved.
Two Palestinian males can be seen in the footage leaving a building while raising their hands. Numerous Israeli border guards are encircling them. Then they get down on their knees. Apparently to demonstrate that he is unarmed, one of them raises his t-shirt. They return to the building after a little while. They are then killed by border police opening fire.
According to a joint statement from the IDF and police, efforts have been made to capture sought persons who have engaged in “terror activities” such as firing at security personnel and hurling explosives.
