Leaders and Ursula Von der Leyen Will Join Zelenskyy at the White House for a Meeting with Trump

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, is scheduled to travel to Brussels to meet with Ursula von der Leyen, the president of the European Commission. Following that, the two will join French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in the Coalition of the Willing’s virtual summit.

In a post on X, von der Leyen states that, at Zelenskyy’s request, she will subsequently accompany him to the White House on Monday to attend his meeting with US President Donald Trump. The head of the Commission mentioned that other European leaders will also attend the conference, however it is still unclear if they will participate electronically or in person in Washington.

According to Berlin, Merz will also visit the US capital on Monday to participate in the negotiations. The trip will serve as an exchange of information with US President Donald Trump following his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska,” stated a spokeswoman for the chancellor. Additionally, Macron, Starmer, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb have all confirmed their presence.
