Zelensky Claims That the Middle East Conflict is Causing a Missile Shortage in Ukraine

According to Volodymyr Zelensky, the Middle East conflict will result in a shortage of missiles for Ukraine to use against Russia.

The president of Ukraine claimed in an exclusive interview with the BBC that Vladimir Putin of Russia wants a “long war” between the US, Israel, and Iran because it would undermine Kyiv and divert US resources elsewhere.

Additionally, Zelensky asserted that US President Donald Trump did not wish to “irritate” Putin and was not on “any side” in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Following the US president’s persistent criticism of the UK prime minister, he asked Trump and Sir Keir Starmer to get together and find common ground.

The Middle East conflict, which is already in its third week, has extended throughout the Gulf as Iran retaliates against neighboring governments for strikes by the US and Israel.

Zelensky expressed a “very bad feeling” about how the battle is affecting the war in Ukraine, claiming that peace talks are “constantly postponed.” The conflict in Iran is the only explanation.

Additionally, he claimed that Putin benefited from the situation since it raised energy costs, which was problematic for Ukraine, and suggested that there might be a “deficit” of missiles.A protracted conflict in Iran is advantageous to Putin, he claimed. “It also means the depletion of US reserves and air defense manufacturers, in addition to oil prices. Thus, our [Ukraine] resources are running low.
