With its most anticipated annual menu update, Starbucks is already preparing for cold fall temps while millions of Americans are dealing with intense heat. The increase would be helpful. The coffee chain said that the Pumpkin Spice Latte, its most popular beverage since 2022, would be back on menus on August 26. This is four days later than it was last year. But this year’s announcement is the earliest Starbucks has given a release date for the Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Fans refer to it as the PSL, and it’s a best-seller that may help Starbucks resurrect its company. Starbucks has had difficulties in recent years due to declining sales and increased competition. According to a prior Placer.ai analysis that measures foot traffic, after the PSL was released last year, trips to Starbucks were more than 24% more than a normal day and created a “sustained visit spike” that persisted for many days.
Starbucks usually makes the announcement a few days prior to the drink’s debut. However, because Google searches for “pumpkin spice” began earlier this year and interest started to rise in mid-June rather than mid-July in 2024, the business is issuing notice a month early, it added.
