Musk has not submitted paperwork for a new party to the Federal Elections Commission, despite discussing the idea with individuals such as right-wing tech founder-turned-philosopher Curtis Yarvin and former presidential candidate Andrew Yang.

Rather, documents reveal that Musk gave $5 million to Republican organizations, including MAGA Inc., the Senate Leadership Fund, and the Congressional Leadership Fund, in the initial days of his conflict with the president in June and just before he announced his own party.
