Melinda French Gates said she was “unbelievably sad” when further records came out last week that showed her ex-husband, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, had contacts to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
In a preview video for her participation on NPR’s “Wild Card” show, the philanthropist, who divorced Gates in 2021, talked about how she felt about the scandal. She said she was “happy to be away from all the muck.”
Whatever questions are still there about what I’m not sure I know everything—those questions are for those folks and even for my ex-husband. They need to answer to those things, not me,” she said. NPR indicated that the whole interview will come out on Thursday.
There is a lot of information about the extended association between Bill Gates and Epstein, but the Department of Justice released more than 3 million pages of material related to the Epstein investigation last Friday, raising additional suspicions about their business dealings.Epstein’s email account has what look like draft communications from 2013, but it’s not obvious who wrote them. But they seem to write down, in a stream-of-consciousness style, emotions of betrayal toward the Microsoft co-founder.
