According to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, at least two persons were killed in overnight US airstrikes on Saada, a Houthi stronghold. The strikes injured nine people, according to the rebel group’s al-Masirah satellite news program, which broadcast footage of a hit toppling what seemed to be a two-story building. Al-Masirah had no footage from within the structure, which they characterised as a solar power shop.
President Donald Trump has recently expanded a US airstrike campaign against the rebels in response to their attacks on ships in Mideast waters as part of the Israel-Hamas war. The Houthis have issued casualty data showing that at least 69 individuals have died.
Early Saturday, Trump shared what looked to be a black-and-white drone video of over 70 people huddled in a circle. During the 25-second footage, an explosion occurs, leaving behind a big crater. These Houthis met for instructions on an attack,” Trump alleged, but did not provide a location or any other information on the strike. ” Oops, the Houthis will not attack! They will not sink our ships again.
The US military’s Central Command, which supervises America’s military activities in the Middle East, has not released the footage or provided any detailed information about the strikes carried out since March 15. According to the White House, more than 200 strikes have been launched against the Houthis.
