According to Zelensky, The United States Requested Help from Ukraine in Combating Iranian Drones

According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, the United States has requested assistance from Ukraine in protecting Gulf allies from Iranian drones. He stated that Ukraine’s partners had been contacting him, and there had been “requests from the American side.”

Zelensky stated that he had issued directives to “provide the requisite resources and guarantee the presence of Ukrainian specialists who can ensure the requisite security.” When asked about the Ukrainian proposition, US President Donald Trump responded, “I am open to receiving assistance from any country.”

Zelensky had previously stated that Ukraine would provide assistance provided that its own defense was not compromised and that Kyiv achieved diplomatic benefits. He specifically proposed that Ukraine would be amenable to exchanging its interceptor drones for additional US Patriot air defenses in order to provide protection against Russian ballistic missiles.

There are concerns that Ukraine may be adversely affected by the conflict in the Middle East if its allies are preoccupied with it. Additionally, there have been apprehensions about the potential scarcity of interceptor missiles and Russia’s ability to capitalize on the rising price of oil, which serves as a significant source of funding for its war effort.
